Libreville, Gabon's capitol and largest city, had undergone an extensive expansion and development process. This proccess took place without any proper aerial photography coverage due to Gabon's harsh weather conditions.
MDV Group was contracted to produce a high resolution orthophoto with the purpose of providing its client with an accurate and up to date urbanization, environment and infrastructure status of Libreville and its surroundings.
The Nevo system, which was used in the production process, is one of the only systems capable of producing high quality aerial photography while flying below 3000ft (1000m) and in difficult weather.
MDV Group's air crew preformed the entire production process within a 3 weeks working period, including:
- Planning and execution of flight missions with a total of 30 flight hours.
- Ariel photography of a 5,600 km2 area, in an 8 cm per pixel (GSD) resolution, taken in challenging weather conditions (including low cloud ceiling).
- Ortho-rectification and visual corrections.
- Orthophoto delivery to the client.
